Accessing Podiatry Services for the first time

If you are under 16 or over 60, or have a medical condition that places your feet at risk of ulceration and infection then you can contact any of the health centres listed below to arrange an appointment at an assessment clinic. You can also contact our Podiatry Appointments Office on 020 7685 5601.

If you are 16 – 60, a health care professional can refer you to a ‘New Patient Assessment’ clinic from which you can be referred for further foot care services if you meet appropriate clinical criteria.

Housebound Patients

If you are housebound, your GP, or other health professional, can refer you to our domiciliary service. A senior podiatrist will then visit you to make an assessment before allocating a home visit podiatrist for your ongoing foot care. Alternatively, if you are immobile but not housebound we can arrange transport to/from a community clinic with assistance from ambulance staff. Please see our Transport Clinic schedules below for information about where this service is available.

Emergency Referrals

If you require an emergency referral, e.g. acute pain, inflammation or infection, your GP or other health professional should contact the Podiatry Clinical Manager on 020 7685 5615.

Services for Homeless People

No referral is necessary for this service which can be accessed at the Spectrum Centre.
