Inpatient Rehabilitation

The Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit provides treatment and support for patients whose physical abilities have been decreased through illness – for instance, by stroke, a fall, or a musculo-skeletal condition.

The unit is at St Pancras Hospital’s South Wing. Each patient is encouraged to play an active part in setting goals for themselves, in partnership with the care team. This includes medical and nursing staff, therapists, psychologists, dieticians and podiatrists.

Depending on their condition and abilities, patients work towards

  • regaining everyday life skills
  • returning to independent living
  • managing their disability with a positive but realistic outlook.

Patients are usually referred to rehabilitation from local acute hospitals.
