Booking an STI (STD) or HIV test appointment
Most clinics are by appointment only and you can call or attend the clinic to book an STI (STD) or rapid HIV test. If you need urgent help, you can walk in to an STI clinic without an appointment and we will try to see you. However, if the clinic is busy you may be asked to book an appointment.
Visit Mortimer Market Centre or The Archway Centre pages for full details.
What happens during an STI (STD) test?
- A doctor or nurse will ask some questions about your sexual and medical history. They may examine you before carrying out some tests. A basic STI check-up would include tests for HIV, syphilis, gonorrhoea and
chlamydia.
- Allow up to two hours for your visit to the clinic. It is important that you do not pass urine for one hour before you attend for your STI test.
- Results generally take 7-10 days. Same day results are available for a limited number of tests. We will write, call or text you with your results according to preference. Some patients may be asked to return to the clinic to receive further treatment.
